![]() ![]() A possible workaround is to add the Tap adapter with hdwwiz.exe(Add Hardware Wizard) and “adjust” it to be recognized by OpenVPN. using OpenVPN GUI/script or by hand with tapinstall.exe or part of a branded OpenVPN client installer and no method will work, on Windows 10 or Windows Server 2016 one potential issue you may encounter is that you cannot add more than one Tap adapter for some reasons ( “tapinstall.exe failed” may be returned if you use tapinstall.exe to add the adapter directly). You may try to add a new Tap adapter manually, e.g. Basically another TAP adapter being needed on the system. ![]() You connect to an OpenVPN server and when attempting to connect to a second one, the connection fails with the “ All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use” message.
